Beef Bolognese Spaghetti

Updated: Feb 14, 2019

I love Italian cuisine! It's one of my favourites. The secret of my bolognese sauce is the onion and the combination of different tomato sauces. It's easy and doesn't take too long to make it. For gluten-free version use GF pasta and check all your spices as well. Buon Appetito!

1 big red onion

1 kg beef mince

1 tbsp vegetable oil

1 tbsp Italian herbs mix

400 gramm crushed tomatoes

1 tbsp tomato pasta

1 bottle passata sauce (700 gr)

1 pack spaghetti (gluten free)salt and pepperchilli (up to you if you love it spicy a bit, I do)

Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil

1. Put a large saucepan over medium heat, add the oil and fry the onion until golden brown.

2. Add the beef mince, increase the heat higher and cook until browned ( I usually mince the meat myself)

3. Add all the tomato sauces, tomato paste, as well as seasoning and cook covered on low heat for a good hour. Stir continuously. If it gets too thick or you're worried it will burn, add a bit of water to it.

4. In the meantime cook your pasta per instructions. For Gluten-free pasta I recommend double amount of water, add salt and a bit of oil in the water and stir continuously. Drain when ready.

Serve the pasta on plates, top with the sauce, cheese and fresh basil. If you like it spicy, add some chili as well. Enjoy!
